Everyone in the hockey world has been looking for big news today. Don’t think this is what they had in mind. The Phoenix Coyotes just released the following statement regarding forward Brett MacLean:
“Brett was playing hockey last night in Owen Sound, Ontario when he suffered a medical emergency,” said Maloney. “Brett received CPR on site and was taken to a local hospital by ambulance where he was treated. He was then transported via an air ambulance to Knight University Hospital in London, Ontario where he was admitted to the cardiac ICU. Our thoughts and prayers are with Brett and his family. We request that everyone please respect their privacy at this time. We will provide an update on Brett’s status when information is available.”
Like everyone else, our thoughts and prayers here at Aerys Sports go out to Brett and his family. Get well soon, kid!
UPDATE: As players throughout the league continued to tweet their get well wishes, Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet tweeted the following:
Awesome news! Everyone please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and hope for a speedy recovery. We’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
