Every day when our teams hit the ice, we sit down with our families and think of the players participating in the game. And just the players. That’s how it should be but what we tend to forget is these guys are human as well and therefore have families of their own that they think of every day before hitting the ice.

For instance, take this tweet from Willie Mitchell who reminded us of the other side of trades:

As a Rangers fan, I saw that first hand when Mike Rupp was sent to Minnesota. Sure, as a fan I wasn’t sad to see him go but then to read about how he had to leave his four children, including a newborn, back in New York for two months…it got dusty, okay?

On a happier note, while Washington forward Brooks Laich has yet to play a game this year, he did show us a picture of his kitchen:

That is one cool uncle if you ask us!

And finally, Gabriel Landeskog tweeted this picture after a big win last week:

Let’s say it together…awww!

And a bonus tweet just because I couldn’t not include this classic from Mrs. Mike Fisher, aka Carrie Underwood, who just wanted to watch her husband play:

As someone who remembers when the playoffs were superseded on NBC for poker just a few years ago, I couldn’t agree more with that hashtag.

S/T to our Hump Day Hockey Cards extraordinaire, Erin Pryde, for helping find todays tweets!
