Our Thursday morning features aren’t just about stunning good looks. you know. We can appreciate a hockey player with impressive skill and other qualities. This is our monthly salute to these men for those other qualities, even if they may not be the best looking in the bunch.
This week’s recipient is none other than alternate captain of the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, Anze Kopitar.
Kopitar has been making history since beginning his career with the Kings in 2006. He is the first Slovenian player in the NHL, so there have been a lot of firsts. First goal, first to win the Stanley Cup, and most recently the first to bring the Stanley Cup to Slovenia.
The 25 year old center has had more than his share of accolades during his time in the league. He was named an All Star in 2008 and 2011. He is also consistently at the top of his team’s scoring numbers.
Work it.
Happy Thursday, kids!
Don’t think we forgot about the…
Anders Lindback of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Formerly of the Nashville Predators.
