In addition to his Stanley Cup playoff heroics, what Dustin Penner is known most for in the last year is pancakes. The Los Angeles Kings forward sustained what may be the most unusual injury of the season in early January.
Apparently his estranged wife made a stack of delicious pancakes, he leaned over to eat them, and couldn’t get back up. Between these and the waffles in Toronto, it’s been a big few years for bready breakfast foods and hockey.
Dustin earns this week’s Hawt Trophy for having an insanely good sense of humor about it all, and even hosting a charity event at IHOP to benefit the Kings Care Foundation.
