Ah, Andrew Ference. Defenseman for the Boston Bruins, 2011 Stanley Cup Champion, and a heavily tattooed environmentalist. As if that weren’t enough, he’s the first NHLer to punch Sidney Crosby in the face.

Now that’s hawt.

Don’t let his agitator reputation fool you, Ference has a lot of stuff going on off the ice. He formed a friendship with Canadian environmentalist David Suzuki during his time in Calgary and started the NHL’s carbon-neutral program.

A resident of the North End in Boston, he frequently rides his bike to The Garden or travels on foot. Apparently, there is a recorded message on the T, but I haven’t had the pleasure of hearing it during my visits.

He also has a lot of nice ink.
