29 Assigned to Portland

Today the Phoenix Coyotes assigned twenty-nine of their players to their American League affiliate the Portland Pirates. This marks the second season for the two teams to be affiliated with each other after Portland being bounced around between the Washington Capitals and Buffalo Sabres. They are set to start out their training camp on September 28 with new Head Coach, Ray Edwards. While Edwards is no stranger to the AHL scene, this will be his first season in Portland. The players assigned to Portland include:
Scott Arnold, Alexandre Bolduc,Chris Brown, Chris Conner, Brett Hextall, Rob Klinkhammer, Phil Lane, Jordan Martinook, Andy Miele, Joel Rechlicz,Brendan Shinnimin, Jordan Szwarz, Ethan Werek, Mathieu Brodeur, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Maxim Goncharov,Brandon Gormley, Mark Louis, David Rundblad, Michael Stone, Chris Summers, Justin Weller,Louis Domingue, Chad Johnson, Mike Lee and Mark Visentin.
Forwards Evan Bloodoff, Darian Dziurzynski and Maxime Villemaire will also be reporting to Portland’s training camp on AHL contracts, while Lucas Lessio and Connor Murphy have been assigned to their respective OHL teams.
