Hump Day Hockey Cards: Dazed & Confused

Hump Day Hockey Cards: Everybody Poops

This is Capitals defenseman Mike Green’s rookie card. Yup, it looks like he is about to have a certain kind of “movement” on the ice. Possibly on his way to the face off circle. Yes, we have the maturity if 12 year olds and poop jokes make us laugh.

Friday Fisticuffs: Eric Boulton vs. John Erskine

After last week’s legendary fight, we’re featuring a bout from more recent history.

It was November 14th 2010. The Atlanta Thrashers were visiting the Washington Capitals for a Southeast Division contest.  What happened mid-way through the second period was the best fight of the 2010-2011 season.

Most fights in today’s NHL aren’t so much fights as they are skirmishes. Quick affairs with a few blows thrown before the linesmen intervene to pull the combatants apart.

Boulton and Erskine’s fight? Absolutely outstanding.

One of the best parts has to be all of the Caps watching the replay on the jumbotron as the fans react to every punch. It’s almost like something out of “Goon”. By the way, you have got to see it if you haven’t.
