Not that it will matter but for now that’s the earliest we will see an NHL game after the league cancelled the month of November today. (Side note: Can we actually cancel the month of November? I mean do we need to live through those 30 days? Actually March is worse but…see what the lockout is doing to me?)
The best part of this cancellation is that we have no idea exactly what it means. It is possible (although looking more and more unlikely) that we see hockey before that. All we need is some meaningful negotiations in early November and maybe American Thanksgiving weekend becomes a possibility again. Yeah I doubt it too.
It’s also possible that with no negotiations in early November that the league cancels more games before we get anywhere near December 1st. I’d say we’re at 50/50 on which way the league goes.
Honestly your guess is as good as mine as to what the next step is. I’ve said all along “Black Friday” is what the NHL is shooting for. Sure it doesn’t look realistic at the moment but all it takes is one moment of placing egos aside to change everything. Yes as a woman I do think this is possible. Your move guys. Which will hurt more – proving me wrong or right?
