Hump Day Hockey Cards: Airbrushed Glory

Just so we’re clear, the goalmouth is a location on the ice.  As its name suggests, it’s the area directly in front of the goal.  You may hear to it referred to as “the crease” or that blue area in front of the net.

Not sure why it’s worthy of a card all its own, but whatever. That’s what Wednesdays are for.

Now this is an unusual take on the spooky old school goalie masks we usually see pop up this time of year. Not intimidating whatsoever. D’awwww…

The caption reads “Bourque proves he;s an all around great blueliner”. Yeah. 5 Norris trophy wins. Great seems to fall a bit short.

It’s difficult to believe there was a time when Don Cherry wore normal clothes.
