Hump Day Hockey Cards

Gilbert Dionne is totally rad, dude.

Just in time for your mid-week pick me up, it’s Hump Day Hockey Cards!

Since I’ve started scouring the internet for the best of the worst, I’ve come to a pretty definitive conclusion.  The 1990s were an absolute goldmine for awful cards. Whether it was the love of neon, questionable fashion, ugly jerseys. They were all on display during the decade.

Without further ado, here we go:

Imagine you’re Kelly Hrudey. You find out there is going to be a card of you in the NHL Pro Set. That’s exciting news, right? Until you find out you card features a Whaler’s butt in your face.

It’s tough to know where to begin with this Teemu Selanne beauty. First, it appears to be part of a set made to look like a pack of cards. Second, it has the infamously ugly Anaheim “Wild Wing” jersey. If you can’t tell, this jersey featured their goalie mask wearing duck mascot bursting out of the lower corner of the jersey. Wow. Just wow.

Mike Grier. Eating pizza. Really, that sums it up.

Look for it. You’ll see why this one is being featured. Once you see it, it cannot be unseen.
