This week, we’re going to give you an inside look at the makings of an NHL fight. Those new to the sport have probably realized that the fights are 100% real, but you might not know that the combatants often discuss it before dropping the gloves.

That’s exactly what happened on November 30, 2006. Famed heavyweight enforcer Georges Laraque faced off against Raitis Ivanans. The players take their positions for the face-off draw and chaos seems to ensue. Luckily on this night, Laraque was mic’d up for the broadcast so the pre-bout exchange was captured.

It’s an exchange that was duplicated in a fictional fight between Georges and Doug “The Thug” Glatt in the movie “Goon”.
