The Anaheim Ducks have just announced that they have reached a deal with Cam Fowler. Fowler is now inked in with the Ducks for five more quacky years with Anaheim. He will be banking 4 mil. per season during these five years.

Ducks fans rejoice, we roped in a solid 1-2 player at a reasonable amount of money! With all the insane contracts that have been doled out the past 24 hours in light of the impending lockout, 4 million per year is a bargain. Cam Fowler could have easily asked for 5 per, and found it. I like this deal. Hats off to Murray (this doesn’t happen often in Anaheim).

It’s refreshing to receive good news in dark times. This season’s lockout will become official at midnight tonight (9pm PST) unless something miraculous happens between now (2pm PST) and then. I’m not counting on it but I’ll admit 5% of me is still hoping for it. Now excuse me while I go blast Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer“.
