Jeremy Smith is headed back to Nashville.

Or maybe Milwaukee. Smith did sign a two way contract after all.

Regardless of where he plays, the restricted free agent signed a one year contract worth $660,000 at the NHL level, $65,000 at AHL level. He was called up three times this past season, including one game where he served as the backup goalie.

Smith was the 54th pick overall in the 2007 entry draft and named Goalie of the Year by USA Hockey the same year. The Michigan native was the second ranked goalie in the AHL this past season in both games won and shutouts.

Sounds like we may have the perfect boy to follow in Rinne’s footsteps!
