After two long and emotionally draining days, the 2012 Entry Draft has been completed! Each organization has taken home their new toys and can now start the long process of figuring out which players may go best with whom.

And the fans will (hopefully) be prepared for when those lineups are decided.

Nashville’s First Draft Pick: Who Will It Be?

Who will be the next player to step on the ice? (Photo: Paul Nicholson/flickr)

And so round one of the 2012 Entry Draft has come to a close.

For those in Nashville, it’s not such a huge deal. We didn’t have a first round pick, but we’re not crying over it. Nor did any trades happen involving Predators players.

What everyone is hopefully doing is looking forward to what options are open for the rest of the draft.

Nashville will have nine picks tomorrow, starting with pick thirty-seven overall in the second round. Following that will be another second round pick, one in the third, two in the fourth, a pick in the fifth, and three picks in the sixth round (see the official draft board here).

With all the whispering done tonight and the unexpected announcement of Jordan Staal’s trade to the Hurricanes, you do have to worry. Who knows what madness could happen in the next six rounds?

So a note to the Predators’ management: please don’t drop any bombshell trades on your fans. Heart attacks are not appreciated during the draft.
