The Predators seem determined to make this a summer of goalies. Nashville has signed yet another goalie today, meant to be the backup for Pekka Rinne next season. Chris Mason is returning to Nashville after a stint with the Winnipeg Jets.
In a sign away, defenseman Francis Bouillon signed a one year contract with the Montreal Canadiens. It had been reported earlier in the week that Nashville would not attempt to resign the D-man.
Jordin Tootoo has been signed by Central Division rival the Detroit Red Wings. This, well, this is not the best news for the Nashville fans, given how Tootoo has been widely called a fan favorite. Tootoo is reported to be signed for three years at $1.9 million per year.
Word has yet to drop on any decisions by Ryan Suter. Rumor has it that he is fielding calls and won’t make any decisions before tomorrow.
