Kevin Klein… Now where do I know that name from?
Oh yes, I remember now. This is the man infamous for stating the Predator Playoff Mohawk trend.
But what’s behind (or beneath) the Mohawk? Let’s find out.
The Kitchener, Ontario native was drafted to the Preds in the second round in 2003, though it took a couple more years for the D-man to make the big league.
Klein played for several seasons with the Toronto St. Michael’s Majors in the OHL, which is where he returned after the draft. After a few games here, it was goodbye Toronto and hello Guelph Storm for the remainder of the season. One world junior championship later and it was off to Milwaukee for Klein!
It wasn’t until the 2005-2006 season that Klein was called up to play for Nashville. Even then it would take two more seasons before being added to the Preds’ roster full time. Starting in 2008 Klein played a sixty-three game season, notching four goals in the season.
The 2011-12012 season has been Klein’s best so far in terms of points at twenty-one. At only twenty-seven, this improvement is sure to continue for many years to come!
