Saints Sproles Has Broken Left Or Right Hand, Won’t Play Monday Night

One of these is injured.

Bad news for the New Orleans Saints and for fantasy football owners alike–RB Darren Sproles is out for Monday’s game against the Eagles.

Sproles had surgery on a broken hand, assistant coach Joe Vitt revealed on Friday. Vitt wouldn’t say which hand was broken, but he did confirm that Sproles only has two hands. Take a guess, he suggested, you have a 50/50 shot at being correct. Ummmmm….okay. It’s the left right left right left right. Definitely right. Or left.

Sproles is one of the Saints’ most versatile players. He’s the team’s third leading rusher (26 carries for 117 yards) and the second leading receiver (39 receptions for 323 yards, 4 TDs) so far in 2012. Sproles also handles punt returns and kickoff returns for the Saints.

This is just crappy news. We’re sure going to miss Sproles’ hands. Both of the them.

RB Travaris Cadet could handle most of the Saints returns while Sproles is out.
