The Saints are at Green Bay on Sunday. This game has been dubbed the Goodell Bowl for good
reason. If there’s are any teams that feel fraked by the NFL, it’s these two. [Excuse my fictional French.]
I didn’t expect the Saints to be 0-3 at this point in the season. But, here we are. Of course, I’m sure Green Bay fans weren’t expecting the Packers to be 1-2.
In all fairness, the Packers should be 2-1 after a terrible call by the replacement refs at the end of MNF in Week 3. But, the Saints have their own problems.
Sure, sure…there’s the Saints’ tumultuous offseason and the coaches’ suspensions. But, there’s also the disappointing play of Drew Brees and the turrible defense.
Despite a lackluster season thus far, Brees is on the cusp of tying another record. Brees has thrown for a TD in 46 consecutive games. If he completes a TD pass in this week’s game, Brees will tie Johnny Unitas’ all-time record of 47.
The Saints are one of only two winless teams in 2012 (Cleveland Browns being the other). I don’t have high hopes for New Orleans this week, but 1-3 seems a whole heck of a lot better than 0-4.
