Usually we wait until Friday to post the most fail-worthy news around sports on our sister site, The Pulse, but today’s Olympics nugget is just too good to wait!
As reported by Yahoo Sports’ Fourth Place Medal blog, Brazil’s Felipe Kitadai, who won the Bronze in judo on Saturday, dropped his medal in…wait for it… the shower. What was the Brazilian doing with his medal in the shower? Uhhh… get your mind out of the gutter!
Kitadai won a bronze medal in the 60-kilogram judo competition on Saturday in London and celebrated by taking it everywhere. The included the shower. He didn’t want to get the medal wet because, duh, only an idiot would bring his medal into the shower and let water get on it, so he bit it between his teeth. That’s when the purple strap snapped and caused the bronze disc to crash to the ground. It was left with a small dent.
Lucky for Kitadai, the International Olympic Committee is going to issue him a brand new one. I wonder how much a slightly dented, water-logged bronze medal would go for on eBay.
