Here we are at day two of the Olympic games. We had lots of early morning swimming heats. Here are the results.

Women’s 100 M Backstroke

Missy Franklin and Rachel Bootsma both qualified to move onto the semifinals. This is the second race for Franklin after she was part of the silver medal relay team that swam yesterday. The semifinals will be later today with the finals taking place tomorrow.

Men’s 200 M Freestyle

Ryan Lochte and Rickey Berens both qualify to move onto the semifinals later today.

Women’s 100 M Breaststroke

Rebecca Soni and Breeja Larson both qualified for the semifinals which will take place later today.

Men’s 100 M Backstroke

Matt Grevers and Nick Thoman both qualified for the semifinal race which will take place later today.

Women’s 400 M Freestyle

Allison Schmitt was the only American to qualify for the finals later today. Chloe Sutton finished tenth in the field.

Men’s 4×100 M Freestyle Relay

The US team finished second in the qualifying heat this morning. The finals will be later today.
