Avs Not Making Necessary Changes

The Avs are on their way to a number one draft pick, and missing the playoffs for the third consecutive year. This is beyond ridiculous. When I look at the lineup, I don’t see the problem. There are a lot of talented players, and a lot of character guys. I’d like to see some upgrades defensively, but I think so much of what is going wrong right now has to do with confidence. Jan Hejda spoke to the Denver Post’s Mike Chambers, saying that they have all lost confidence since the Edmonton game. It is time to overhaul the coaching staff, and probably management too. They have put together a team that should be contending, but they have failed to manage things properly.

Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that anything will happen. This season will be lost, we’ll hear the same old comments about “steps in the right direction” and “next year, we’ll know what it takes”, we’ll get a high draft pick (hopefully Seth Jones), and then we can all feel good for about 12 minutes about how half of this team grew up cheering for the Avs.

I’ve had enough of this. I’m tired of watching this team fail. If the Avs don’t beat Dallas tomorrow, I’m officially calling it and giving up.
