Avs Pick Up Palushaj

Aaron Palushaj, an American forward who was previously in the Canadiens organization was picked up on waivers by the Avs this morning. He’s only 23, and he hasn’t had a real solid opportunity in the NHL yet. Obviously, the Avs needed to add some more depth upfront, given the injuries to Downie and Landeskog, and the “go-F*%$-yourself” level contract dispute between the team and Ryan O’Reilly. Luckily, David Jones practiced today and felt good, so he should be available for tomorrow’s game. Unfortunately, Erik Johnson is questionable for tomorrow’s game with a bruised foot (he blocked a couple of shots with his foot during yesterday’s game.) (Is this bruised foot some sort of karmic retribution for breaking Eric Belanger’s foot?! Belanger was put on injured reserve yesterday for a broken foot, whih he said happened when he blocked Erik Johnson’s shot.)

Palushaj will have to pass a physical, but it is possible he could be tomorrow night’s lineup. Welcome to the Avs, buddy. Hope you can score some goals.
