My god, I should be a professional.

Ryan Wilson is my favorite defenseman on the Avs. (I mean I love EJ…and Shane-O…and Byrner…and Hejda…and Hunny…and BabyBarrie…but Wilson is my guy.) Today is his 26th birthday. Unfortunately, he was injured in the last game. I hope he has a solid recovery, and returns as soon as possible.

Milan Hejduk of the Colorado Avalanche is scheduled to play his 1,000th NHL game tomorrow night against the Dallas Stars. To make this night even more special for Avs fans, every single one of those games came in an Avalanche uniform. Hejduk will be the first player to play 1,000 games for the Avs. Joe Sakic played the most games in franchise history (1378), but only 870 of those were with the franchise in Colorado.

The Colorado Avalanche made sure they didn’t disappoint the large crowd for the first matinee game at Pepsi Center this season. Of course, we are talking about the Avs, so they made everyone a little nervous. Just 58 seconds into the first period, Oilers’ number one pick (the third one), Nail Yakupov slipped the puck past Semyon Varlamov. It was the type of goal that fans could see was coming, as the entire team was disorganized and the Oilers were all set in striking position.
