The Avalanche’s prospect camp is underway currently. This season the Avs have opted for a low key affair, inviting only the five players drafted in this year’s NHL draft. Nothing has been officially released by the Colorado Avalanche, but the four players who are on twitter and attending have all expressed excitement about being in Colorado for a couple of days. Colin Smith also tweeted that they received a tour of the Denver Broncos practice facility.

It’s a bit strange that the Avalanche are having such a small group come to prospect camp, considering most teams invite nearly all of their prospects, have a few scrimmages that are open to the public, etc. However, the team has obviously decided that a smaller affair was all that was needed to intorduce these five young men to the Avalanche organization.
