In the basketball Battle of the Columbias, there was no Connor Shaw to play hero, and USC fell to the Tigers 82-74. Missouri started the game on an 11-0 run and led by almost 20 points in the first half, so it’s not surprising that the Cocks lost. That being said, they could easily have let the Tigers run away with the game and they didn’t, which is at least something.
Brent Williams had a stellar game (he tallied 32 points and was again perfect on free throws) and Michael Carrera had a nice one as well, but that wasn’t enough to propel Carolina to a victory. They’re now 0-6 in the SEC, which ties a program record. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so instead of continuing to write a recap, I’m just going to give you this FrankFace, which I think sums things up pretty well:
The Gamecocks will be back in action on Wednesday night when they host Texas A&M. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
