First thing’s first: I go by “Mac” almost everywhere, so call me that.
I’m a student at Mills College, studying English with an emphasis in creative writing and Journalism.
Mills is a Division III school and not necessarily a sports oriented place; however, I grew up rooting for the Stanford Cardinal and the Fresno State Bulldogs. Moving to the East Bay Area made me develop a soft spot for the Gaels — in addition to considering St. Mary’s for my undergrad education on three different occasions.
I’m a baseball person through and through. I joined Aerys Sports in the early months of 2011 as the senior San Francisco Giants reporter, writing at Third Street Kings. I’m a fan of sabermetrics, a good changeup, and throwing arms with a 40% caught stealing percentage.
As for other sports, I watch about everything. Soccer and hockey follow baseball on my list of favorites and I enjoy watching football, softball, and basketball. But I will literally watch any sport, including curling. I rather love watching curling.
With Gael Force Winds, I hope to bring a dose of snark and puns to your regularly scheduled St. Mary’s sports news.
