Dodgers Score 2 Runs, Still Wronged By Wright

Well, the Dodgers actually scored some runs! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! WHOOO! YEAH! GO TEAM!

They snapped their scoreless inning streak, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Mets, who beat the Dodgers 3-2. David Wright had a home run that he simply crushed off a ball that wasn’t a hanger. In fact, it looked like he golfed (cricketed?) the ball into the Pavilion.

While I’m happy that the team scored runs, hopefully reminding the rest of the team that it’s something that they can do, so that they can hopefully stop this whole 5 game losing streak thing…I’m more excited that Andre Ethier has avoided the disabled list with an oblique strain! This is very exciting, as the oblique is very important to baseball playing. And sitting, standing up, sneezing, breathing, sleeping, what have you. In any case, he’s day-to-day, and while I hope he’s not just saying that (like he did with his knee last season), I am extremely cheered that he’s doing ok.

So, maybe tomorrow will hold better news for the Dodgers. At any rate, it’s one day closer to the returns of Mark Ellis and Matt Kemp.

Dodgers Lose 3-0 to Oakland A’s

Let me put it this way: The Proposal, a really basic romantic comedy, was on during the game. I decided to watch Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock instead of watch the game. That is how much I loathe Interleague. I mean, Brandon McCarthy is good and internet hilarious, which I appreciate. But at the same time, a Kemp-less offense is not fun to watch. A Kemp-less offense that starts Adam Kennedy is even LESS fun to watch. Add Aaron Harang to the mix? Walking eight dudes in 3 2/3 innings? Seriously?

Pass the popcorn, buddy. Let’s watch some awesome rom-com hilarity.

Dodgers Lose To Brewers, Matt Kemp Returns Tomorrow

Thanks to my wonderful mother, I was able to go to tonight’s game and sit relatively close behind home plate. It was a really cool experience. However, apparently the Dodgers did not get the memo, because I would not use the adjective “cool” to describe their performance as they lost 3 – 2 to the Milwaukee Brewers. No, I would describe their performance as “meh”. Aaron Harang did alright, allowing a homerun to Aramis Ramirez, and the bullpen did a decent job as well. The offense, however, was lackluster, and was only able to put up 2 runs. They looked overmatched. While Shaun Marcum is good, he’s not overwhelmingly so, and made it through 7 IP without much trouble at all.

The only thing that really stood out to me was Dee Gordon’s performance, and not in a good way. Despite some improved success in the 8 hole, Dee had three consecutive swinging strikeouts. That high fastball is going to take some getting used to.

You’d think a local boy would get at least a little love, even if he played for another team. However, when that local boy “stole” the NL MVP award away from Matt Kemp and then allegedly tested positive for prohibitive substances, the fans at Dodger Stadium are going to be less that welcoming. The crowd, which was relatively mild if not detached throughout the game, woke up whenever Ryan Braun come up to bat. The Left Field Pavilion also changed “STEROIDS” at him whenever he took the field. Stay classy, guys.

Michael Antonini was called up to the big team after news that Ted Lilly was going on the disabled list with shoulder inflammation, but optioned tonight. So, that’s two trips up to the big club where Antonini has been called up and has not played.

Matt Kemp returns tomorrow, after hitting two homeruns in his rehab assignment with AAA Albuquerque. It appears hitting on the moon agrees with Kemp. Hopefully, the Ravine will as well.

Despite losing, the Dodgers still have a league-best record of 32-16.
