Cardinals 3, Hanley Ramirez 2 as Dodgers Lose in St. Louis

Hanley Ramirez made his impact felt in his first game as a Dodger, going 2-for-4 with a triple, sacrifice fly, RBI single and a run scored. Ramirez scored his run on a James Loney sacrifice fly in the second inning.

But it was just another chapter in the same 2012 book for the Dodgers, as they only managed two runs off Cardinals starter Kyle Lohse and mustered nothing against the St. Louis bullpen. In the bottom of the 12th, Jamey Wright got Yadier Molina to ground out, walked a one-legged Lance Berkman who was pinch-run for by yesterday’s starting pitcher Joe Kelly, then struck out Skip Schumaker. Unfortunately, he would not record another out as Matt Carpenter singled to move Kelly to second, and Rafael Furcal singled to left fielder Tony Gwynn Jr., scoring Kelly. Gwynn had a definite chance to throw Kelly out at the plate, but he overran the ball in his hurry.

Dodgers conclude their season series with the Cardinals tomorrow at 11:45am PT.

Dodgers Lose 3-0 to Oakland A’s

Let me put it this way: The Proposal, a really basic romantic comedy, was on during the game. I decided to watch Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock instead of watch the game. That is how much I loathe Interleague. I mean, Brandon McCarthy is good and internet hilarious, which I appreciate. But at the same time, a Kemp-less offense is not fun to watch. A Kemp-less offense that starts Adam Kennedy is even LESS fun to watch. Add Aaron Harang to the mix? Walking eight dudes in 3 2/3 innings? Seriously?

Pass the popcorn, buddy. Let’s watch some awesome rom-com hilarity.
