Dodgers Lose 2-0 To Giants, Conference Lead Down To One Game

So, the Dodgers lost to the Giants. Shut out, again. I am extremely thankful for the lead that the Dodgers were able to amass in the very beginning of the season. Kershaw got tagged for a homerun, snapping his no-earned run streak at AT&T, but he also had an absolutely filthy curveball to strike out Gregor Blanco to end the harrowing inning. Go here for the GIF of the ridiculous pitch.

Honestly, I’m not all that surprised about the Dodgers’ performance without Kemp. I do think that the new ownership group will go crazy-go-nuts around the deadline to make a move (provided the Dodgers don’t get completely overtaken by both the Giants and the Diamondbacks), but I do think if anything happens it will happen closer to the deadline. After all, it remains to be seen if one Matt Kemp-sized addition to the team will keep them at the same level of meh.

The Dodgers will avoid being swept by the Giants tomorrow as Tim Lincecum and Chad Billingsley take the mound.
