El Caballo Is Now A Miami Marlin

El Caballo Is Here!

The Marlins traded Matt Dominguez and Rob Rasmussen for Carlos “El Caballo” Lee from the Houston Astros on a sunny Fourth of July. Regardless of hitting a home run on Wednesday, Gaby Sanchez was sent to AAA in New Orleans.

The Marlins Now Have Pet Fish

The Marlins now have pet fish swimming in the tanks at the new ballpark. Just check them out. Cute little guys.

Harry Potter and the Florida Marlins Part I

Ok. I admit it. I am a Harry Potter fanatic. I have read all the books. I have dressed up in full Gryffindor gear for Halloween (I even have a wand). I have had butterbeer both in drink form and cupcake form. I have also drank delicious pumpkin juice.

After I see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II, I will be sad it is all over. I wanted to have a little fun with two of my favorite things, however. Fan Fest 2011

One of my favorite Marlins events is Fan Fest. I love everything about it, from the games to having the opportunity to meet the players. It is when it really hits me that baseball season is at hand.

This year, Fan Fest took place for the last time at Sun Life Stadium on February 18. So, I wanted to arrive early and hopefully get in line for some autographs.

Here is a view of Fan Fest from the stadium seats.

Fans had the opportunity to take photos with players in the photo tent.

This Fan Fest was a great one. You would never know who you could run into. I ran into Marlins President, David Samson. I also got to speak with World Series 2003 Champion Manager Jack McKeon. It was very random but also amazing because Mr. McKeon is a great man and wonderful to talk to.

I am looking forward to next year’s Fan Fest at the new stadium!
