Senior Haley Peters and junior Elizabeth Williams of the Duke women’s basketball team were named to the C0SIDA Academic All-District Team. Both are now eligible for the Academic All-American ballot.
It is the second straight honor for Peters, while Williams is being honored for the first time. They were joined on the first team by fellow ACCer Kody Burke of NC State, Ebony Rowe of Middle Tennessee State, Heather Butler of UT-Martin, and Sam Coffer of Elon.
Peters has a 3.8 GPA while majoring in Political Science with a minor in English. She is a two-time All-ACC selection and this season is averaging 11.9 points and 7.8 rebounds (which is tied for 11th in the ACC).
Williams has a 3.43 GPA while majoring in Psychology. She is averaging 14 points, 6.9 rebounds, and three blocks this season. She is number one in the ACC in blocks and 14th in the nation. She has at least one block in all 91 games she has played in her career at Duke. Oh and she is a two-time All-American.
The Blue Devils are back on the court this Sunday afternoon as they welcome #2 Notre Dame to Cameron Indoor Stadium for the first time as ACC opponents. The game will be aired live on ESPN at 2pm ET.
