With the opening game of the 2013 season set for Saturday, August 31st, Duke football coach David Cutcliffe named his team captains on Saturday. The four captains were selected by their teammates.
Anthony Boone is a redshirt junior quarterback who is expected to start this season. In 22 career games, Boone is 79-of-148 for 829 yards and six touchdowns (compared to three interceptions). He is more of a running QB, as he has 211 rushing yards and six TDs.
Ross Cockrell is a reshirt senior cornerback who is a captain for the second straight season. He is a preseason All-ACC selection. In his career, he has 187 tackles in 36 games started. Last season, Cockrell led the ACC with five interceptions.
Justin Foxx is a redshirt senior defensive end who has played in 31 career games. He has started 16 games and amassed 98 tackles (11 for a loss) to go along with 7.5 quarterback sacks.
Dave Harding is a redshirt senior offensive guard who has started 27 of his career 36 games (at center and guard). He was an honorable mention All-ACC selection last season.
