On Tuesday, the Duke men’s soccer team won on the road at Davidson, 3-2 in overtime. The Blue Devils improved to 3-1-2 on the season. The three goals are the most in a game for Duke so far this season.
The Blue Devils had to mount a huge second half comeback, as they trailed 2-0. Brody Huitema scored his second goal of the game with 50 seconds left in the first overtime period for the victory. The two goals were the first two of his collegiate career.
Duke’s two second half goals came in the 68th and 87th minutes. Huitema headed in Duke’s first score. Nick Palodichuk scored the final goal of regulation.
Fellow rookie Seo-In Kim registered two assists.
After the first 45 minutes, Duke led 10-6 on shots and 4-2 on corner kicks, yet were trailing 1-0. Davidson then scored just three minutes into the second half. For the game, the Blue Devils led 22-11 in shots.
Duke is back in action Friday night against new to the ACC Syracuse.
