Duke has record 474 selections to ACC Honor Roll

Earlier this week, the ACC announced its 57th annual ACC Honor Roll. For the 25th time in 26 years, Duke led all ACC schools with a record 474 selections. That is a LARGE number. It is the fifth straight year that Duke had more than 400 honorees.

trophyThe Blue Devils had eight 5-time honorees: Kenny Anunike (football), Megan Deakins (women’s cross country/track & field), James Kostelnik (men’s cross country/track & field), Leslie Morrison (cross country/track & field), Sean Renfree (football), Cydney Ross (women’s cross country/track & field), Peter Terrezza (wrestling), and Sophia Zieman (women’s cross country/track & field).

23 ACC Players of the Year were also honored, including women’s basketball’s Chelsea Gray and Elizabeth Williams. Fellow Blue Devils who earned Player of the Year honors on the ACC Honor Roll are Henrique Cunha (men’s tennis), Brendan Fowler (men’s lacrosse defensive POY), Kara McCormack (women’s diving), Nick McCrory (men’s diving and Olympic medalist), and Ali McCurdy (volleyball defensive POY).

Duke also had two Freshman of the Year honored: Celine Boutier (women’s golf) and Cassie Pecht (women’s soccer).
