Butler Earns Silver
Last week, KC Royals left fielder Alex Gordon was golden. On Thursday, DH Billy Butler earned himself some silver hardware: a Silver Slugger Award. It was his first Silver Slugger.
Butler set career-highs in both homeruns (29) and RBIs (107), while also hitting .313, which was tied for fifth in the American League. He was honored as the league’s top hitting DH.
Managers and coaches vote based on batting average, on-base percentage, and slugging percentage (or that is what they are supposed to be voting on).
Hopefully, Butler is just scratching the surface of how good he can be.
