The KC Royals announced on Friday morning that they signed veteran outfielder Xavier Nady to a minor league deal. They haven’t announced their spring training invitations yet, but I am pretty sure he will be invited.

He has played 11 seasons in the big leagues and split last season between the Washington Nationals and the World Champion SF Giants. Nady is a career .270 hitter with 101 homeruns and 406 RBIs in 939 games. His best season came in 2008, when he hit .305 with 25 homeruns and 97 RBIs combined with Pittsburgh and the NY Yankees.
