Testa Finishes ABL Season with Fan Favorite Award

KC Royals minor league outfielder Carlo Testa was coming off another solid season in the farm system, with 2012 being spent in Double-A. In the offseason, he headed to the land Down Under to play in the Australian Baseball League.

As a member of last place Melbourne, Testa hit .294 in 46 games (170 at-bats). He hit seven doubles, six homeruns, and drove in 19 runs. He walked 27 times and struck out 38 times. He stole ten bases, but was caught eight times.

To cap off the solid season, the Ohio native was one of six finalists for the ABL’s Fan Favorite Award. On Thursday, it was announced that Testa won the award with a record of over 2,000 votes.
