Broncos QB Caleb Hanie one play away from replacing Peyton Manning - Peyton Manning this, Peyton Manning that. All people in the Denver-area break rooms talk about these days is Peyton Manning. Do all these suits, dresses and potential orange-and-blue face painters understand the 2012 Broncos are one hit, one neck crick from a bad night’s sleep, from becoming Caleb Hanie’s team? ”It’s something I think about,” Hanie said. Mark Kiszla: Broncos WR DeMaryius Thomas learning that Peyton Manning demands results - On any given Sunday, catching touchdown passes from Peyton Manning is the coolest job in America. But the other 349 days a year? Working for the NFL’s most demanding quarterback might be a more thankless task than being Donald Trump’s apprentice. Or comb. Read more from the Denver Post >>>>
‘Fresh’ Veteran Warren Returns to D-Line - Defensive tackle Ty Warren is ready to return to the gridiron after two seasons spent on the sidelines due to injuries. While recovering from hip surgery, Warren sat out the 2010 season in New England, where he started nearly every game from 2004 until 2009. He then left the Patriots for Denver last offseason, but spent the year on injured reserve again, nursing a triceps injury. ”It was definitely a blow,” Warren said of the injury. “It’s nothing that you ever anticipate coming into a situation like being with the Broncos. Signing with the Broncos last year, I had every intention to come in and earn my spot on the team as I have in years before when I was healthy.” Read more from Denver Broncos >>>>
Vying For Time - Undrafted rookie Chris Harris climbed the depth chart to start four games last season with a tenacious work ethic that was first noticed during offseason workouts. That earned him some early-season playing time with the special teams unit – but as he continued to raise eyebrows on the Broncos’ sideline, he found a niche during the second half of the season at nickel cornerback. Broncos’ Jack Del Rio A Player’s Coach - The defensive players on the Broncos are undoubtedly excited about their new defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio. Del Rio played in the NFL for eleven years so he’s widely considered a “player’s coach.” “There’s nothing like having a coach that actually played the game so he knows what’s going on in there,” linebacker Joe Mays said after Tuesday’s practice. “He knows that things may not work out the exact way that you’re coaching. Sometimes he let’s us go out there and just play ball. Whether it’s going out there and doing what he tells us to do or if we just go out there and play it the way we see it, we’re never wrong as long as we’re all on the same page.” Read more from Predominantly Orange >>>>
It May Have Been Broncosmania, instead of Tebowmania all along - As Peyton Manning left another day of OTA’s this week, his press conference was filled with a couple of hints that the Denver media was more critical than he expected. His subtle note of displeasure to those of us holding microphones was a reminder of what actually drives the Denver media. Denver is, and has been since its first Super bowl run, a Broncos town. John Elway helped bring this love to new levels, but it was only in the social media age with Tim Tebow that the rest of the country could see it. In the end, Tebow was not entirely the driving force of all the attention. He was just a bi-product of a crazy orange and blue football town in the Rocky Mountains. Read more from Rant Sports >>>>
