Manning to honor former Tennessee Vols coach during Broncos bye week - At least the schedule did something for the Broncos. Actually, it wasn’t the Broncos but the University of Tennessee that benefitted. The Broncos’ bye week, which comes after they play Game 6 on Monday night, Oct. 15, at San Diego, falls on the same weekend Tennessee will honor Peyton Manning’s former coach Phillip Fulmer. Do The Broncos Have Any Competition In The AFC West? - The Denver Broncos have not had this much promise going into the preseason since 2005 when that team of good, young talent meshed with some aging veterans to lead them to the AFC Championship game loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now, after being the forgotten team in the AFC until halfway through last year when Tebow-Mania struck the mile-high city, the Broncos find themselves in an almost unwelcome predicament. Picked by many to be the favorite in the west division after a slew of offseason moves that included landing Peyton Manning and trading down in the draft to add talent around him. It is no doubt that Manning needs to stay healthy in order for the Broncos to win the division and make a January run. The offensive line that includes Ryan Clady, Chris Harris, Chris Kuper and co. will make sure that Peyton stays upright and has time to make his throws. Newly acquired tight ends Jacob Tamme and Joel Dressen will be needed to not only become targets for this aging quarterback, but help block for him as well. Read more from Rant Sports >>>>
