Denver Broncos game outscores Olympics in local TV ratings - The Broncos took the gold, silver, platinum and any other metals/medals you’ve got in terms of local TV ratings Thursday night, leaving the Olympics in the dust.  The Broncos-Bears game trounced the primetime swimming, running, diving and whatnot on the Olympics by more than double the share (or percent of viewing audience.) Broncos’ remaining members of 2009 draft class in fight to make roster - Robert Ayers went sprinting the sideline at Soldier Field on Thursday night, stomping his feet and bellowing in raucous celebration after his first preseason sack.  For Ayers, it was a triumphant display that seemed to scream, “Hey, I’m still here!” after his demotion to the second team earlier in training camp.  Read more from the Denver Post >>>>

Inside the Numbers: Preseason Week 1 - 0: Denver held the Bears without a third-down conversion in Thursday night’s game. Chicago finished the contest 0-11 on third down attempts.  4: Four different players scored touchdowns for the Broncos. Running backs Lance Ball (2 yds.) and Xavier Omon (3 yds.) each ran for touchdowns. Wide receiver Jason Hill (19 yds.) and tight end Cornelius Ingram (25 yds.) added scores through the air.  6: The Broncos defense finished with six sacks in Thursday’s 31-3 win at Chicago. Leading the way were defensive linemen Derek Wolfe and Jeremy Beal, who each tallied two quarterback takedowns.
