The window has closed for NFL teams to use the franchise tag, and compared to 2012, it was a quiet period. As you know, the Denver Broncos used their tag on left tackle Ryan Clady.
With the majority of teams passing on the franchise tag, there’s a rather impressive list of free agents in 2013. NFL.com lists the top 85 free agents, and you’ll notice plenty of soon-to-be-available offensive linemen and defensive backs. It’s a good year to go after those positions…just sayin’.
Free agency begins next week.
