Denver Dailies: Broncos Headline Roundup – 3/4/13

It’s the final day for NFL teams to use the franchise tag. The Denver Broncos did so on Friday, ensuring that left tackle Ryan Clady stays with the team for at least another season.

But this post from Bleacher Report suggests the Broncos should re-think the decision. It’s a done deal now, so any argument against the matter is moot, but nonetheless, the BR does attempt to evaluate the “worth” of an offensive lineman. ‘Worth’ is relative — just ask the Baltimore Ravens when it comes to quarterback Joe Flacco — but if you’re a quarterback, it’s reassuring to know you have talented players keeping you unharmed in the pocket. That’s what Clady does.

For what it’s worth, I’m fine with Denver’s decision to tag Clady, and my guess is many of you are as well. So there’s that…

Rumor? Who doesn’t love a good rumor?

NFL.com is the latest to speculate on the Broncos’ possible interest in New York Jets running back Shonn Greene.

And if one rumor isn’t enough, let’s look at a possible departing Bronco: linebacker D.J. Williams. I don’t believe it would surprise anyone if Denver and Williams parted ways, but could the linebacker end up elsewhere in the AFC West?

Looking ahead

And now for completely a little different…
