Duke Kicks Off ACC Tourney on Friday

The Duke men’s basketball team will be looking to add another ACC Tournament title to their resume, just as their female counterparts did last Sunday. The second seeded Blue Devils open play on Friday at 7pm ET against the winner of Thursday’s game between 7 Maryland-10 Wake Forest.

During the regular season, the Blue Devils split their season series against Maryland (with the loss coming on the road). They beat the Demon Deacons twice, with the road win only coming by five points.

However, Duke played those games without All-ACC Honorable Mention Ryan Kelly. They are still undefeated with him in the lineup. If Duke wins on Friday, they could play rival North Carolina on Saturday afternoon for the third time (and second time in a week).

Here’s a look at the rest of the ACC bracket:

2013 men acc tourney bracket logoIt should be an exciting tournament, as many of the lower seeds have already beaten some of the higher seeds. It will also be interesting to see how both UNC and NC State play. Both have been up-and-down all season and the Wolfpack is one of the most disappointing teams in the conference. Virginia is on the bubble and needs some big wins in the tourney to get to the NCAA Tournament.
