Three Duke Players Selected in MLL Draft

In Wednesday’s Major League Lacrosse 2013 Supplemental Draft, three former Duke men’s lacrosse players were selected.

Nick O’Hara was chosen in the fourth round by the Charlotte Hounds with the 27th overall pick. Last year, he appeared in three games for the Hamilton Nationals. The Hounds will be the sixth team he has played for since graduating from Duke in 2008. In Charlotte, he will join former teammate Matt Danowski and current Blue Devils volunteer assistant coach Joe Cinosley.

Parker McKee was selected by the Long Island Lizards in the seventh round with the 53rd overall pick. The Lizards are the only team he has played for since graduating from Duke in 2010. Last season, he played in nine games and picked up an assist.

Steve Schoeffel was selected by the Denver Outlaws with the 87th overall pick. This will be his first stint in the MLL. In 90 games at Duke, he scored 59 goals and recorded 20 assists. He will join former Duke teammate Justin Turri in Denver.
