Rays Release Promotions Schedule

Woohoo, free stuff!

The Rays have released their promotions schedule for this season. Yet again, I’m jealous of kids 14 and under because they’ll get the giveaway I want: the Astro bobblehead. Don’t judge me.

While Astro looks cute, in a goofy kind of way, his owner was not so fortunate when it came to the promotional item recognizing his Cy Young Award win.

The “David Price Cy Young Figurine” does not look much like David Price. The southpaw himself said:

“I might do a recall.”

Rays: Price Gets A Key To The City Of Tampa

Oh. My. Gosh.

Please appreciate this video of Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn giving a key to the city to AL Cy Young Award Winner David Price. His dog, Astro, also received a key.

Looking for something a little less cute? Marc Topkin from the Tampa Bay Times rounded up some stories about the Royals/Rays trade that sent Tampa Bay’s James Shields and Wade Davis to the Royals for Wil Myers and other prospects. Let’s just say some of the thoughts coming out of Kansas City aren’t pretty. That, and please don’t think I’m a terrible person, makes me feel better about the trade, though I’m still particularly bummed to see Shields go.

Rays Lose 1-0 In 10, Dogs Still Love Them

The Rays hosted their first Bark in the Park event today in the tbt* Party Deck at Tropicana Field.

Tampa Bay dropped the series finale to Baltimore 1-0 in 10 innings, but from what I saw, the pooches and their owners still had a good time.

Astro was even on-hand to support his owner, and Sunday’s starter, David Price. I took the photo that’s above while working for tbt* today. Keep an eye on their Facebook page tomorrow for a full album from today’s event.
