Since the Rays took both games of a doubleheader against the Phillies on June 24, they haven’t found a way to win two in a row. Let’s hope they can change that with a second consecutive win over the AL East leading Yankees tonight. Fingers crossed I’ll get to report another Rays W to my Yankees-loving boyfriend around 10:30 or so tonight.

• After Monday’s win, Hal Bodley wrote for MLB.com “Admit it or not, Rays’ winning rally was big.” Count me in the group of people who will readily admit that. The Yankees have been on a tear, and beating them has to be a confidence booster for Tampa Bay.

• If you couldn’t watch yesterday’s game, Rays Index captured some of the sights. (Holy crap, B.J. Upton’s hair looks terrible.)

• The trade deadline will be here soon and Steve Slowinski has guessed that the Rays will be buyers. You can have your opinion on the matter counted in a poll over at DRaysBay.
