I am not going to discuss the game in progress for fear that I might jinx it.
So, how ’bout we talk a little about last night’s game? We already lost that one. Chris Archer made his Major League Debut and pitched about as well as anyone could have hoped he would. After the game, Dad and I sent a few texts back and forth and he said of Archer:
He’s going to be ok. Great stuff and composure.
Couldn’t agree more. Archer’s line for the night was 6 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 1 BB and 7 SO.
You’re probably wondering what’s the drawback I referred to in tonight’s title. It’s Archer’s MLB headshot. Holy moly is it terrible.
I know I’ve walked into college classes looking that tired, but dude, at least crack a smile.
But hey, at least he didn’t get ejected from the game.
We learned today that Joel Peralta has received an 8-game suspension from the league for having pine tar on his glove.
Peralta has appealed the suspension, so he’ll be able to pitch for the time being. Here’s the more technical language:
Peralta had been scheduled to begin serving his suspension on Thursday, but he has elected to file an appeal. Thus the punishment will be held in abeyance until the process is complete, meaning he will be able to pitch.
And on a final note, Jeff Keppinger expects to be back with the team tomorrow. Hooray!

Now excuse me while I go wallow in a hole of self-pity since my Seminoles have been ousted from yet another College World Series.
