Rays: An Early Lead Leads To An Early Bedtime?

This past Monday I began my summer marketing internship with tbt* Newspaper. (Wanna do me a solid? Like tbt* on Facebook and give us a follow on Twitter.) While this is a wonderful opportunity, it has required some schedule shuffling on my part (which includes later posts and/or calling on my dad, Wayne, to fill in). I hope you’ll bear with me as I find a way to get things here back to “normal.”

The Rays are leading the Jays 6-4 as I type and I am praying to the baseball gods that Tampa Bay keeps that lead so I don’t feel terribly guilty about going to bed before the game is over.

Here are some of the stories I caught up on when I was done with work for the day:

  • Ben Zobrist spent the day at Ponce de Leon Elementary School in Clearwater as part of the Metro PCS promotion called “Take Zobrist to School.” Awwwwwww.
  • Did you happen to hear the Happy Heckler while watching last night’s game? I did. Cork Gaines of Rays Index shared more information on the history of the Heckler.
  • If you missed seeing a few guys look like gladiators in the dugout yesterday, just click this link.
