Thanks to a narrow 33-28 victory over No. 18 Michigan this afternoon, No. 10 South Carolina is the 2013 Outback Bowl champion and finishes the season with 11 wins for the second straight year. Sounds pretty great, doesn’t it?

I watched this game at a New Year’s get-together with my extended family, and I think they got to see a whole new side of me. I was by turns stressed, thrilled, frantic, freaked out, and loud. I still can’t really put into words what I feel about this game, so let’s do a recap in pictures and videos, mmmk?

The Wolverines obviously did their fair share of scoring too, and they definitely didn’t make things easy on the Gamecocks. The game literally came down to the final seconds, and USC was lucky to get the 33-28 win, especially considering they missed two two-point conversions, missed a field goal, and had another attempt blocked.

Shaw finished the day 18-of-26 for 224 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. Thompson went 7-of-10 for 117 yards and two TDs and also didn’t get picked off. Devin Gardner was 18-of-36 for 214 yard, three touchdowns, and an interception. Shaw had 96 yards on 10 carries and Sanders had nine catches for 92 yards and two TDs, plus the punt return score, to lead Carolina. Denard Robinson had 23 carries for 100 yards and Jeremy Gallon had nine receptions for 145 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Wolverines.

A special shout out to all the seniors who, with 38 victories over the past four years, get to go out as the winningest class in school history! It’s GREAT to be a Gamecock!
