After yesterday’s victory, the Chicago Cubs now share last place with the Milwaukee Brewers. While it’s always nice to beat the Brewers, it’s also sad to see them in peril o slipping to a lower draft pick. Maybe they can win two of three from the Brew Crew then watch them go on a hot tear after this series is concluded.
One fun fact from yesterday’s game: with the appearance of Justin Grimm, the Cubs have now had 53 different players appear for them this season. That ties the record set by the 2012 Cubs, and with Scott Baker starting tomorrow’s game, that record is sure to fall (unless Baker blows out his elbow warming up). Of course, that could happen today, should 37-year-old Korean sensation Chang-Yong Lim appear today.
Today’s starters will be Johnny Hellwig (0-3, 10.97) for the Brewers and Jake Arrieta (2-1, 3.77) for the Cubs. Lineup after the jump.
Junior Lake hit his first career grand slam yesterday and was rewarded with a day off today. Am I the only one frustrated by him not getting to play every day? I think we know what we have in Brian Bogusevic. Anyway, game time is 3:05 Central and you can watch on CSN. Let’s go team!
